I never understood, and still fail to understand the public's fascination with Twitter.

I hate Twitter. When I was doing PR work for the game group, I barely used it despite them telling me to get on it several times.

No. I hate Twitter and despite that, we were nobodies. You need to start a good rep before you can expect decent twitter followers.
