Considering the last show you tried to get me to watch I am very suspicious this time around. Also I am still waiting for you or luna to finish the last show I recommended.

I swear to god this one is great. But you can't look it up! You need to go into this with a blank slate.

I absolutely loved it and it's an instant favorite for me. 10/10 without a doubt. Literally, it marked off everything I look for in a romance show. I highly recommend this if you want a solid romance show.

Just watched the first episode and was not feeling it.

I have tried watching this a long time ago, but I didn't really like it either. But I gave you the benefit of the doubt and gave it another go.

watched episode 1 of kill la kill, the story is interesting but I personally feel the animation could be a little better and same with the voice actors but over all I enjoyed it

Soul Eater Not is a Prequel/spinoff with different protagonists. Though, characters from Soul Eater do make cameos.

I got around to watching the Trigun movie on Netflix last night with a friend. I was pleasantly surprised to see an anime movie that did not suck, though I am curious as to its continuity if it has any at all.

I can't honestly count Ghibli as anime anymore. It is so very different.

I always count Ghibli as anime. Only reason I separate it from others is just because of the regard I hold for them.

That once again brings up the discussion of what constitutes as anime. I personal think of it by style rather than its location of developer. (As otherwise many "American cartoons" would technically need to be considered anime. Going by style rather than location also automatically separates Ghibli from traditional anime as well.

But it's not style. That's why the term "American anime" exists. I remember back in the late 90s, anime used to be referred to, at times, as "Japanimation." Heck, there is even "Taiwanese anime" or "Korean anime" and usually one has to make that distinction.
So as far as the popular lexicon goes, "anime" still refers to Japanese animated shows.
