You're right, I say they should take another half decade just to be safe. Needs at least 10 years for it to come out decently.

Still, I think we have been waiting Long enough for a new Metroid or Metroid Prime game. If Federation Force is really all they have right now that means it will probably be 10 years between Prime games.

Unacceptable.

The metroid game the was shown looks fun, the thing is, they don't know where to put it in Metroid's storyline. So we got a spinoff.

So then there's the whole how do you expand metroid's storyline without repeating thing?

Solution: Make a sequel to Fusion or Prime 3. A story about samus running from the federation in the former or Sylux's revenge in the latter.

Isn't it their job to come up with stories to tell? Why are you making excuses for them? It has to be stressed that it has been a long time since the last game.

It should not need to be stressed. It should be considered fact. I still think Nintendo is the best game developer around, but that does not mean that aren't incredibly thick!

Don't know. Don't care. Know why I don't care? Because if you read how badly the F-zero franchise sold over the years, everyone would understand why they haven't made a new one.

Each game sells worse than the last.

F-Zero(SNES): 1,000,000 copies

F-Zero X: F-Zero X sold at least 383,642 units in North America & Europe, While in Japan 97,684 units.

F-Zero Maximum Velocity: sold 334,145 copies in Japan and 273,229 copies in the U.S. as of 2005.

F-Zero GX: In Japan, F-Zero GX sold over 100,900 units and became qualified for the Player's Choice line in both Europe and North America by selling at least 250,000 copies.

F-Zero GP Legends: Around 79,000 copies worldwide.

F-Zero Climax: only around 5,000 copies sold.

Tell that to Smirky. I don't get why he's giving them a pass on it.

He's not giving them a pass. He thinks the spin-off looks fun. Nothing wrong with that Razz

As for the story - it is a huge galaxy. It can have many stories. I'd actually like one where we can bounty hunt actual criminals.

Re: Gen Chat 0V: Paper Fallout of Doom Fantasy Zero

Nintendo's announcement E3 that a spin-off title set in the Metroid universe is heading for the 3DS left many fans questioning why the Wii U has been left out.

Metroid Prime: Federation Force has even spawned an online petition, asking for it to be binned and replaced by something closer to what other games in the series have been like.

However, the idea that Samus Aran will be suiting up for an adventure on the Wii U looks as far off as ever.

Metroid Prime producer Kensuke Tanabe explained why.

"If we started for Wii U now, it would likely take three years or so. So it would likely now be on Nintendo's NX console," he told Eurogamer.

"It's a long time but it would need to include a lot of content, which would take a lot of work on the development side.

“Truth be told, making HD games takes a lot of time and resources. I haven't been able to collect a team or the resources to [make a Metroid game for Wii U]."

Speaking on the future of the Metroid franchise, Tanabe did offer a few ideas on what he'd like to explore next.

"The stories of Dark Samus and Phazon are done now," he continued.

“So it was Sylux, another hunter from Metroid Prime Hunters at the end of Metroid Prime 3. Personally I'd like to create a story centring around Sylux and Samus.

"We've done a story based on the Hunters, and this time around [with Federation Forece] we're doing a story on the Galactic Federation. I would like to cross the two over in the future. And of course see a little more of Samus."

Federation Force is a co-operative sci-fi shooter set in the Metroid universe, featuring specialized battle Mech suits to take down enemy forces and complete objective- based missions.

It also comes with Blast Ball, a 3-on-3 sci-fi 'sport', where players shoot the ball into the opponent’s goal to score.

Well this:

Makes it sounds like he's making excuses and giving them a pass.

Yup.

And honestly, I feel the only reason people want a new F-Zero game so loudly is because of Captain Falcon in Smash. I am pretty sure if he wasn't in the game, the younger gen wouldn't even know F-zero existed.

Ill be honest Mazer, Nintendo needs another F-Zero simply to give us a Nintendo racer OTHER than Mario Kart. Likewise, I never even heard of those other F-Zero games you mentioned.

The context for the following is irrelevant, all that you need to know is that this was an actual post.

"It's like I couldn't decide between having sex or going to Waffle House, so I had sex with a breakfast sandwich, instead. Now I'm just covered in shame and maple syrup."

Why do they need it to have 2 racers? I understand the desire but the sales (my business side) doesn't see the point.

I'd rather have a Nintendo racer with characters and vehicles from several franchises

Smash Racers
