the $399 walmart price is either a premium model or a bundle, the price is likely $300.

even then... RIP nintendo.

it's a handheld that can be docked and played on a tv with other people.
it has handheld specs.
the only way it was going to sell well is if it had a handheld price.

at $300 it's completely and utterly dead in the water.

I can get a switch and my choice for 15 games for $300 + price of games $60 each.
or I can get a more powerful console in a ps4 for $300 plus my choice of hundreds of games most of which are less than $60.

the wiiu already showed that nintendo IPs alone aren't enough to sell the console to everyone. I've said from the start.

$199 - nintendo learned and the switch has legit chance of market success.
$250 - nintendo learned but not enough and thinks that marketing it as a console is enough to justify the extra $50.
$300 - nintendo hasn't learned from the 3ds or wiiu at all.

300 is not Dead in the water. Hell, most of the people I've been reading expect it to be that price range are already prepping to buy it.
