Re: Gen Chat .01 Alpha Version
I wish some rich entrepreneur would go out, buy Sega, Capcom, and various other publishers past their prime and the beat em into shape for the next generation. Their IP's alone are probably worth more than the companies at this point, simply allowing capable dev teams who are focused on the core aspects would do a lot of good for any of these publishers.

idk, Capcom still knows how to make good games, they're just stupid in every other department.

People are mad at Tim Shafer for some reason.
all I know is that he made a joke about gamergate using a sock puppet, and for some reason hired Phil Fish to be a DJ at their party.
I just don't get why people are screaming bloody murder.

“I was out getting some personal things when my debit card was declined,” wrote Schafer, “I joked with the cashier saying that was impossible because I had three million dollars in there. Turns out, I don’t have three million dollars in there anymore. It just disappeared. I would have called the police, but I don’t think this was a theft.”
“In fact, I think it was just silly old me misplacing some money as usual,” admitted Schafer, “I know people entrusted me with their money to make Broken Age and we’re still going to do that. We just need a little more money is all. And I know that we just finished our Massive Chalice Kickstarter as well. In fact, I had set the goal even higher for that project because I knew I would probably misplace half of that money as well.”
Misplacing some money....and he is daring to ask more money?

Tim Shafer scammed people?
Anywho, watching Power Puff Girls on Netflix and its kinda watching this show again. Everything is so simplistic and the rules of perspective are kinda vaguely followed. I wouldn't attribute the simplicity to simply being a specific art style either, it's just simple. Everything is basic shapes and its weird to remember that it actually aired on TV with such a basic look.

This is when you realize everything taught in you in art school is useless and that sometimes art style can be make something very basic amazing.LegendX48 wrote:Tim Shafer scammed people?

Re: Gen Chat .01 Alpha Version
So I had a random idea for something using that cartoon style I've been playing with lately. Seeing as I don't know how to make cartoons I'm thinking of trying to make something else of it.
...What else have they done aside from that? Those are the only recent things I can think of >.>
Street Fighter, Monster Hunter, Dragon's Dogma, Resident evil 6, Revelations 1 and 2 are good and fun to play though the story and writing is where people are generally divided.-Mazer wrote:LegendX48 wrote:idk, Capcom still knows how to make good games, they're just stupid in every other department.

meh. still a pathetic company. For reasons
The problem is you used the damn "fun to play" card which I can not argue against. YOU JERK!!!
Re: Gen Chat .01 Alpha Version
That I didn't know, You think Tim would've called his bank to see where that money is or something. That is a dick move.
But to be fair, the reason why people gave him money in the first place was make awesome video games. which he is providing with Broken Age and Grim Fendango. Wait a minute.... Do you think that Sony was involved with this?

According to the Steam Reviews, the HD re-release of Grim Fandango is a cheap cash grab

Are you sure it's from legitimate reviews and not from the GameGaters? cause they've been attacking Tim non stop since that Sock puppet thing.-Mazer wrote:smirkytrick wrote:That I didn't know, You think Tim would've called his bank to see where that money is or something. That is a dick move.

Also how is it a cheap cash grab? It's a remake of a classic game that wasn't available on many platforms. Nothing was cutout. The game is played like it did when it first came out. There are no online transactions, which, I'm not even sure how you could do that with a point and click game. So what is making people say it's a cheap cash grab?

just from what I read:
Game crashes, frame-rate issues, bad pixalation issues, not proper "hd" etc etc.

That looks pretty good so far, Legend
And I am surprised people are still bitching bout "gamegate". What EXACTLY is it anyway? Just some sleezy girl who slept with people to get reviews?

that's not what happened. A female dev cheated on her boyfriend, it was never for review scores, she was just unfaithful.-Mazer wrote:That looks pretty good so far, Legend

Re: Gen Chat .01 Alpha Version
Also, @ Mazer, thanks. It was kinda tedious making it but it made me smile watching it loop in photoshop and it also gave me an idea. I wanna try it again but this time do it on pencil/paper and then bring it into photoshop for animating.
But first, tutorials and junk.
