I mean I will still likely buy it, but it's just silly.
it also raises the bar quite a bit more for them to get it right (it's as if all the fan's hopes and dreams weren't enough)

to be fair it's not 100% clear what they mean, so it is possible they simply mean that they are going to release multiple ff7 games and tremendously expand the story (as they did confirm new story stuff)
