Gen Chat XXXVII: Samus is Sexist

Apparently someone on Screwattack claims Nintendo is growing more sexist with every game. First with Other M and now with Smash Brothers by giving Samus "High Heels."

@loom about your friend, it's fucked up and sad but there are girls who like guys like that, though I wouldn't be caught dead with a tool. I feel like your friend may need some counseling cuz the way he seems to be thinking about girls isn't right and I agree I don't think he will have a healthy relationship with a girlfriend if he wants them to act like the way he thinks a girl should act

They are. Ya it's very douchey ideology that he has and some girls definitely like that stigma for whatever reason, but if girls actually dig that then let 'em. They'll be perfect for each other.

And I think he'll grow out this way of thinking. In high school, he missed out on a lot of things and is kind of trying to make it up for it in college, so his opinions on a lot of things are very convoluted.

I think with time he'll wake up, but right now he's really in a bad spot. For example, he broke up with a girlfriend that he dated for like 2 months at pretty much the beginning of the semester.... So basically he found a fuck buddy shortly after on Tender and they did what fuck buddies do best a few times.... Well he tells me the biggest satisfaction of all that is that he felt he was one upping is ex-girlfriend since he was able to find a fuck buddy in that short period of time or something like that. Basically he did it all in smite of his ex-girlfriend. To this day, he's still talks about getting back at his ex-girlfriend. It's fucked up and I literally don't even know how to react to it.

He does ask advice from me in a very indirect way because he likes to think he's got everything under control, but I give him good advice when I can. Like with the whole girlfriend, I just told him his mind was in the wrong place. I just told him he should stop worrying about her; it's over. Like what is there to prove?

What he's going through right now is something he'll have to find out on by himself and it probably isn't going to be pretty.

People get too sensitive with this type of stuff. People complain about the same shit with anime. As long as it isn't too abrasive and overly used, fanservice isn't a problem in my eyes.

With Samus, like you said, Samus is not a fanservice character at all. She has some teases here and there, but overall she's fine.

In the end of the day, it's really not that big of a deal.

hopefully he does grow out of it, constantly trying to one up and get back at his ex is unhealthy . he needs to find for himself a way to get over the past and take what he has learned from that relationship and focus on the future, focus on trying to make his next relationship a healthier one for both whatever girl he's with and himself. and fuck buddies are great and all but they aren't the most healthiest thing to do

It basically makes your entry famous with a crap ton of hits.
