Just finished Laputa - Castle in the Sky, fucking amazing movie. I literally haven't seen it in about 15 years. Absolutely loved it, but that's expected from Ghibli movies.

Guys the makers of Nagi (PA Works) is releasing a new title called Glassip and it's premiering in 7 minutes on CR!!!!

So pumped!!!

EDIT:

Just finished Glasslip. Wow, this has potential to even better than Nagi!!!!! The relationships are already starting! I mean the second preview is a huge indicator! It blatantly says it!

And all the characters are great so far. My favorite would have to be Yanagi. She seems like a mixture of Koko (Golden Time) and Ami (Toradora), I really like it!

I cannot wait to see where this one goes!!!! Definitely give this one a watch guys.

Just watched some more shows:

Argevollen - So far, typical mecha bullshit. Nothing special here, but it has potential.

Tokyo Ghoul - OMFG! This will be one of the bests of the summer season for sure. Great first episode!

Okay, just finished Glasslip and with that, I watched all three.

Glasslip is looking very interesting and it's so fucking pretty, so yay!

Tokyo Ghoul is intriguing. I'm interested to see where it goes from here. Soemthing tells me it's being censored like crazy.

Argevollen, you nailed with the "typical" comment. On the other hand, I don't expect much from it just based on this first ep, so it could be fun in the end.

Nothing bad, so that's cause to celebration.

Futsuu no Joshikousei ga [Locodol] Yatte Mita. - Idol show, not my cup of tea at all. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't interesting at all.

It's fricking pretty, at the least. I'm not gonna expect nagi though, that'd just be unfair. That's a high bar, after all. I'm looking forward to more, though.

Also, gods, I can't get enough of this manga, Angel Densetsu, so freaking funny. XD

Totally agreed. I'm watching Live Love right now and that's an actual good Idol show. Locodol is just meh. I'm giving it the 3 episode rule and then I'm dropping it.

Nagi is going to be a hard one to beat for sure, but I think it will be different. Nagi was more about realizing you love someone and accepting its beauty. Glasslip seems like the relationships will be more solid and we'll actually have real couples.

I got in argument/dsicussion over Nagi with a guy on CR and he said that Glasslip looks like it's too similar to Nagi in that romance is the forefront. He said that the romance in Nagi was the template and then the world, situations, and whatever revolved too much around the romance. He said he wished the world and fish people had more development, but I argued that it had plenty of development! I didn't know what he was talking about! He says that he likes shows that have the romance come more second fiddle and comes later in the show and that he likes shows that have more of a focus on slice of life elements like Hanasaku Iroha.

Though I told him that's just his tastes and that a show like Nagi isn't necessarily worse, it's just different. I told him that I liked how romance was the main focus in Nagi, I mean, it's a damn romance show! He says he likes shows like Golden Time where the relationships basically start from square one and develop from there. He doesn't like how everyone is already a character or something. It was a really weird argument.

Basically he said he wanted the show to focus more on the glass making and then have the romance come later. I said, that's just his preferences because I like shows like Nagi where the romance is the forefront and then we learn why everyone loves each other, but I also like shows like Golden Time where it has a good amount of slice of life elements and the relationships develop a bit slower, steady.

I don't mind that Glasslip is jumping into relationships already because we'll learn more about the characters as the show goes on and like in real life, love comes out of nowhere it can be very fast.

I don't know, what do you guys think?

Tokyo Ghoul's censorship doesn't bug me too much, but I wish it wasn't there that's for sure. I'll probably end up buying one of the bluray/dvd sets.

And I'm glad you agree on Argevollen, it's just generic mecha lol. But I love mecha shows so I still found it enjoyable. The allstar mecha show of the season is going to be Aldnoah Zero. Now that's going to be fucking good. Can't wait till Saturday!

Slice of Life shows take time to develop. I saw tons of potential this episode so that's why i'm glamouring about it.

Loljustin, what is it that you expect from Glasslip?

Tokyo Ghoul - It's not bothering me either. I wonder if it'll keep me long enough for me to one day watch the uncensored version. Maybe I should read the manga instead of watching the show.

Yes, Aldnoah Zero does look delicious. I hope it's good.

As for that argument, I'm not really sure what you were arguing over.

I guess I'm expecting too much..?
meh, whatever.

I'll pass it up if the show never picks up steam. I don't like it when a show never hooks on the first episode(there are exceptions, of course.). Very... casual attention span-ish, I know.

I bet it will keep you entertained, also to tell you truth, I didn't even really know what the argument was either haha. I was just confused at what he was trying to argue you about.

Yes, we talked about it often. I really enjoyed it too. Seeing as you liked that one, I'd suggest checking out Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo. It's pretty similar, in my opinnion. Also, Hanasaku Iroha gave me a similar vibe to it as well.

3 minutes in, and I see no similarities worth noting yet.

20+ minutes in: Nothing like Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou. I don't see the resemblance at all.

It does look interesting for sure. I added it to my Plan to Read list.

How it's time for my quick first impressions ont he new shows that came out today:

Sword Art Online II
Great set up episode. I cannot wait to see how this will go down. Also I got my Kirito X Asuna moment so I'm completely satisfied now.

Aldnoah Zero
HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This one is going to be really good. I knew it was going to be. With a 5-star staff leading behind and A-1 Pcitures aniamting it, I'm not surprised it's started so well. We'll see how Akame ga Kill goes, but this may very well be my favorite anime of the Summer Season.
