yep. If you want to level up at a decent pace you absolutely have to play ranked and win and ranked is already kinda fucked. If your team isn't GODLIKE you won't win, period.

This one, Kiko cat, is actually pretty docile and chill. He just sleeps all day. Lazy fat cat. The other one, Cashew cat, is a bit more of a jerk. He'll bite and scratch.

I have never gotten so angry while playing a Nintendo game as I did earlier today.  I am level 29, and it will take me 250 points to reach lvl 30.  That means I will need to play an ABSOLUTE MINIMUM of 50 games of Turf wars to get a SINGLE level! And that is only if I win every single one of them in a row!

Another Rant: Why can't I play turf wars with a squad of friends? Who at Nintendo thought that it was a good idea to lock friends out of that? I Love Turf Wars and I HATE the ranked modes, so to me this is nothing but a blatant attack on my interests of play.

*Sigh* I don't want to rag on the game, because at its core it is one of the funnest games I played in years; however it is mired in so much arbitrary bull shit I cant help but get frustrated. Nintendo has a nasty habit of catching lightning in a bottle and then letting it fizzle away as they make stupid choices.

Nintendo gotta Nintendo. 1 step sideways, 5 steps back. Correct me if I'm wrong but I read that playing with a squad of friends also locks you out of actually ranking up in ranked.

Also, the fact that the game modes are a part of rotation is atrocious design. A smart designer would've let simply choose between the available modes when looking for a match, not force you to wait every 4 hours for the one that you actually want to play. They also would've set up servers but consoles just won't get that ever I suppose.

You can still rank up while in squad mode, thankfully.

But agree wholehearted about the game modes. It is really stupid that they are in rotation. I hate splat zones, I absolutely DESPISE tower control.

Different strokes for different folks, The fact that I have to play it when I instead want to play splat zones (Lesser of two evils in my eyes)

I would much prefer to play turf wars, but as I pointed out before it is a complete waste of time due to arbitrary decisions.

Screw the ranking system in Splatoon, I dont give a damn about it. What I do care about however is the level system and the gear locks behind it. Every 5 levels after 20 (25,30,35,40,45,50) Unlocks custom gear that is unavailable any other way.

I think you can play anything in private matches, but you get no points or coins for any of it.


It does not matter to some, but as long as content has been locked away behind a level I will strive to earn it; however when earning it is made difficult for arbitrary and frankly, stupid reasons, it makes me very upset.

Oddly enough, it seems not.  Then again this is Nintendo.  No amount of ranting can get them to change their minds anyways.

I disagree...they did a lot in splatoon's balancing due to people's wants...also added some new colors like people wanted

they haven't added new colors o_O

They took ages to unlock the colors in the single player for the multiplayer
