I have a recent console to sell you... it's called a playstation 2 it's cutting edge because it's so recent >.> (if you don't quite follow, lain is 2 years older than the ps2 launch date lol)

i guess I could link you this which happens to be my top anime of 2015 list.

2016 isn't far enough along to for sure say anything is good, but erased is getting good ratings.

It's extremely shallow in almost every aspect. The S.P.E.C.I.A.L stat based conversation options are gone, the new dialogue system is absolutely atrocious (basically boiling down to "Yes", "No", "More info on something", and the ever mysterious "Sarcastic" option.) The voiced protagonist and set background kill any actual role playing stone dead. You're given almost no opportunities to be evil and there's no moral ambiguity anywhere. The game gives you no real choices and nothing you do affects the world in any way.

This would be more forgivable if the story and writing weren't hackneyed garbage. About 20 minutes in to the story you meet an old woman who starts saying she can see your "destiny" and other dumb shit like that. It also does that irritating Bethesda thing where every character treats the protagonist like the second coming and immediately makes him a high ranking member of their faction.

I've also been playing the hell out of New Vegas recently and it's absolutely fantastic. The story and writing are consistently good and interesting, the amount of freedom you have in the main story is insane, there's only one essential NPC that you can't kill, other than that you could slaughter everybody in the game and still finish the game validly (in stark contrast to F4 which has unkillable NPCs everywhere). There's no black or white choices and people are still debating to this day about the choices and alliances they made.

^ yep. Fallout 4 is a tremendous step down on all fronts to a nonsensically silly extent, they cannot even coexist in the same genre because they simply aren't. Bethesda seriously does not understand the series and has no right to even have ownership of it. Sadly, the most we can hope for is for Obsidian to be asked to come in for a "spin-off" so that they can make the real Fallout 4. They are open to it so the ball is Bethesda's court.
