Space Brothers is about the long journey to becoming an astronaut and getting to space and is set 10 years from now. It's hyper aspirational and shonen in the best ways: overcoming challenges, teamwork, following dreams etc.

Planetes they're already in space and it's kind of more like the film gravity in that way. It precedes space brothers (when it was made) and in a way takes a few cues from series like gundam in terms of it's use of drama.

not anywhere near done with my hard/casual playthrough of fire emblem awakening (the future children have appeared and I'm grinding their parents for skills before recruiting) but I'm kinda tempted to try it on classic mode
