Also, saw the season finale of RWBY... Pretty heavy... freaking cliffhangers.... probably going to be a while til we hear anything about vol. 4... I hope they don't do a time skip.

blazblue has more story in a single game then mortal kombat has in 5 Razz

to be fair blazblue is a visual novel that also happens to have a fighting game in it Razz

Fighters do have stories. Tekken does. SF does (meh), Soul Caliber does, and MK does. But 80% of the devs out there just focus on fighting. I prefer story. It's why I hated the new Twisted Metal. It had zero story compared to 1, 2 and Black. The characters themselves were as fascinating as the cars.

If I don't give rat's buttocks about the characters, why would I invest in the franchise? I like story.

Street fighter, BlazBlu, Guilty Gear, Persona Arena - the ones that use that style of button layout for their fighting styles.

Yeah, no. Blazblu pissed me off because you had to beat it several times per character to see the full story. Hurray for giving a story but it was presented terribly.

Zulu, why you no have Blazblue on ps4?!?!?! I have Skullgirls, Blazblue Chrono Phantasma Extend, DoA5 and will be getting Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator, I needs peoples to play with that aren't hyper pro level

also, Blazblue, Guilty Gear and Persona are all incredibly different from Street Fighter. Blazblue in particular is incredibly intimidating to pick up. I would not say they lack depth though.

By depth I mean story and character interest. It's a shame though because it's a beautiful game. Just one that does not entertain me.

My biggest issue with those games is the fact that I have nothing to strive for. Without a storymode with interesting characters and a proper ending, I have zero interest to explore the entire game.

In MK, I want to beat it with every character to see how the game plays out for every side. I get a fun ending which is my reward for kicking the boss's ass. That's fun esp when it continues to build the mythology.

a story that has multiple paths per character = less depth/less interesting then merely a bit of story at the end of a character path Razz

(i'm just messing mostly, for you the MK story is interesting... for me two ducks quacking at each other is more interesting than the MK story)
