Gen Chat 03: The Laughing man

If I had to guess, I would say Nintendo cut the number of servers the demo was using to see how much they could cut off the cost. Apparently they took off too much.

Maybe. Or they are testing bottle-necking limits. See what is the high range vs low range. Last time I played I had zero issues whatsoever. I actually do believe they are trying to get this as close to 100% as possible for launch.

If they avoid the typical Online Crash most other devs go through during launch, that would be a huge victory :3

Yup. Played for the whole hour

To say that I was slaughtering ass and kicking teeth is an understatement. I was 1st place in 3/4 of my matches, got one match with 8 kills, zero deaths, and I was usually the one scoring high marks.

Everyone tends to aim for those huge spots but I prefer going off to the sides and corridors where most people ignore. I rack up tons of points there before moving to the larger areas.

Great maneuver though - I used my squid ability to swim behind this guy. Freakin blasted him in the face when I popped out then I killed his buddy next to him

And lawl. Those rollers got nothing on me. I make them my bitch!

Rollers really are the weakest in terms of combat strength. They practically need an escort to protect them. Almost every time I lost though was when my team started focusing on combat rather than painting; like you I tended to go after the sides of the map.

I only go for combat when they are next to me. I prefer being sneaky and getting the spots that are less traveled until I get to the more densely populated zones. Most my team were going for the larger areas so I just hung back, let them all fight it out while I scored major points for nailing other areas.

Got into a great back and forth with 1 dude. On the sky-scraper/high raise area - that small rectangular section south of the map - this one guy and I were going at each other tooth and claw to dominate since it is right near both our spawn points. It was great!

Do you feel accomplished whenever a team-mate teleports to you? I do. Feels like I am doing suffin right and they want to get in on the action


Do you swim up the pipes in the highrise level? Those are my first targets to get an vantage point.

Sadly most of my team-mates were not very savy at the game. I mostly stuck the edge painting walls and taking pot shots when i got the chance.
PS: Paint the walls-people always forget to go after them so it adds up pretty fast.

My team was pretty decent. I won't lie when I say I feel I scored some of the better regions for us (I know that I won the round for the team at least once when I started painting purple regions that everyone ignored because they were just small zones).

What irritates me is ScrewAttack and BrentalFloss were very quick to report on the sever failure.

To be fair, the first hour was a complete failure.

Yes it was but to ignore the fact that the first 3 attempts were flawless and the issue was 100% fixed after an hour?

Xenoblade never gets that much love. Then again you can't really make obscene jokes about Xenoblade like you can with a bunch of teenagers spraying various liquids in all directions.
