@Mazer:  I honestly trust Sony the most this generation in regards to console design, and in the case of the PS4 I can understand the lack of backwards comparability (Considering the convoluted setup the PS3 had)

The Xbox One howeve, should have been backwards compatible from the start.  Even now I still don't understand why only 22 games will be backwards compatible to it.

At least the Wii U is backwards compatible, but hardly anyone knows that because Nintendo is to Marketing as Youtube comment sections are to common logic.

I just really dislike the loss of certain features on ps4....though didnt they say a lot of the media functionality is returning

Eh, I'm personally not missing much since I never bothered with the PS3 features. All I need is netflix, games, and I'm good.

I care because I used my PS3 as a media center to an extent before I got my KD links. Plus I have a game that generates levels based off your playlist. Without the MP3 import, my game is usless (PS-store game)

To be fair to Sony though - I am more angry at this overall gen than I am the PS4.

Agreed mazar, overall gen is a letdown.

I can understand that. Though, to be fair, that game, unless it was ported over, you wouldn't be able to play on the PS4 because it was designed and hard coded for the Cell processor.

So far, this generation has been a bold step backwards for the gaming industry as a whole.  Most improvements have been overshadowed by failures and omissions.  While I believe that the console will never truly die, if the market continues in this direction it may very well become an endangered species; or at the very least, it will no longer be appealing to me as a consumer.

Too many Publishers (& devs?) are adopting that "FUCK YOU GIVE ME MONEY!" mindset which is ruining everything :\

The only reason I am even considering a console is because how horrible the PC ports are turning out

the pre-order stuff is here to stay, especially with Batman. When it gets to Watch_Dogs level of pre-order stupidity is when publishers jump the shark.
