What game is this?
*does research* Ah, FF...how is that game...despite being monthly pay? What is the combat like?
Re: Gen Chat VI: R.I.P. Satoru Iwata
Combat is nice imo. Even decent with Console controllers(like the XBox 360 controller).
One thing you have to deal with is cooldowns for actions.(timers that restrict you from constant use of skills. These moves can be very useful, so it's best not to waste them.) There's also actions for combos which are not restricted by cooldowns, so don't worry about running out of moves to attack with.
It's got a good pace for combat. Boss Monsters take a long time to kill imo, but proper skill management can really shave the time down.
You're not restricted to one fighting style. If you pick, say, a Gladiator/Paladin, you can switch to Conjurer/White Mage with no hassle, even on the field.(can't switch classes during battle, though).
Certain skills learned from classes can be shared with other classes. Ex. Learn a move as a Conjurer(notably the move called Aero), use that move as an arcanist.
(I'll omit leveling as I know it is pretty much the same as every other mmo with leveling: A F*ING LONG GRIND.)
I'd explain more, but I'm sleepy XD

Re: Gen Chat VI: R.I.P. Satoru Iwata
if you watch the video, something in the background fires missiles to the foreground. The fireballs it causes are horrible.
Not to mention the dialogue is very cringeworthy and I really dislike how the faces never match the words. That chubby guy is ALWAYS smiling even when he is horrified.

Them explosions are pretty lame.
Anywho, today is the deadline for the neogaf art challenge and I'm nearly done, just trying to figure out how I should do the final little piece left (damn flashlights, how do they work?). I don't know if its pride but I do like how this is turning out. If I understood light/shadow it would look far better but it is what it is.

The more I see of Mighty No 9, the less impressed I get. I understand it is a homage to Mega Man made by a co-creator of Mega Man...but there are enemies that are practically copy and pasted. The voices are lousy...having the creator named "Dr White" over "Dr Light"...
They have the "Spark Man" level where the lights turn off...
The elemental-themed bosses that look like taken straight from MM1 and 2...
There's a difference between making a game with the same elements and practically copying the older games with new sprites...
Re: Gen Chat VI: R.I.P. Satoru Iwata
Mighty No. 9 looks like trash.
Damn.
Damn.
