Speaking of weather...
Lots of rain here. Started flooding a bit.

It feels good to be home. Another day or so and I should be ready to take on my responsibilities, whatever they are...maybe.

I need to vent.


So a close friend of mine for 10 years is making a transition from male to fem. It has boosted their self esteem a lot and they are feeling less depressed.

However my friend was pouting because i started a new Minecraft game for the purpose of making videos on it. So i was like fine. You can be like special guest sometimes. But problems kept happening where he missed the recording time due to time differences and whatever.

Finally last night we get into recording and he joins. Now he sounds male, uses a male avatar and has male character name on MC. Plus my partner for the videos doesnt know the whole transgender issue going on. Furthermore i know kids (niece and her friends) are watching and my niece has played MC w this guy before when he was still " a guy"

So we recording and i decide to be neutral by calling him by part of his user name "Fox" while avoiding most pronouns.

However because i am strictly focused on narrating and recording, i alip up a few times w the words "him. He"

Then after a server crash his mic starts glitching out making his voice staticy. We keep telling him this and finally my partner joked "maybe your voice is just scratchy " which makes me laugj bc i am laughing at the static issue. Not the voice.

Trans friend rage quits in middle of recording. And he and i have been snarling at each other since via text because i (and you all know this ) am always furious about this whole pronoun demanding shyt and i tried to compensate but not good enough. He said I was not supporting him enough and how much it kept hurting any time I slipped up calling him by a male pronoun, how us mocking his "Voice" (the static) was super hurting, how I keep telling him to get out there and be proud of himself but I won't let him do it while we play minecraft...


I told him straight up: MY channel is NOT a platform for this. It is strictly entertainment and I am too focused on making an interesting video for me to keep having to gender check how I speak and furthermore that I am not going to take time out of my day to explain to the kids and my niece about this guy suddenly being called a girl on my channel - I don't want this to become a damn political/social platform!

Now he is saying that he is sorry that I am scared to admit to having a Trans on my channel...and that "My protection from youtube haters" is not needed because it should be something to help him grow better...

I understand (the former) "him" wanting to be referred to as "she/her" now, since the change has been made. What I would say to her is for her to have some patience with you, since making the transition will take time to get used to. You've known her as a "he" for so long, it's not just gonna be something that'll be automatic. Especially during a game when you're focused on something else. Also, changing the character would help, since the voice is something that can't be changed....I think.

As for you having to explain the switch, you don't actually have to. It's about playing the game, not explaining your friends life. Just tell her that you don't want to make it an issue in this series. If she's asking you to publicize it on your channel, again, just explain that that's not what your channel is about or this series. Refusing to be an activist on her behalf doesn't mean you're not supportive, it just means you don't want to be an "activist."

She needs to fuck off and respect your choices.
It's seriously disrespectful for her to force her poitical nonsense down your throat.

Its their reaction that is pissing me off.

You two still at odds with each other I'm guessing? I mean, slip ups with pronouns with a person that you've referred to as "he," or "him" for several years is understandable (and expected?)

They should have been aware of this. People aren't just gonna call you sally the girl overnight when you've been a dude for several years, if not decades. Come on now. That's being unreasonable.

It's ok to want to be called whatever pronoun you want, but throwing a tantrum over someone slipping up a few times is just pathetic and only exacerbates the issue. That person is either incredibly emotionally fragile and thin skinned, or is simply yelling because they want attention and/or has developed a victim complex. My money is firmly on the latter.

I am not talking to hir right now mostly because i am still seeing red. I have supported a lot of her choices and suddenly because i screw up on video and we made a joke about static voices she rage quits and then lectures me and accuses me of not accepting?


I explained several times that

A: i tried to drop pronouns and use Fox instead despite doing so made lot of my sentances sound weird...

B: I was strictly focused on the video. Not gender issues

C: this is the first time i ever spoke out loud referring to Fox in 3rd person (since when we text its so much easier to pronoun properly since i an reading it. Not speaking it)

D: that because of the rage quit i now need to edit out about 13 minutes of video, resync shyt etc...

But i am still being accused of "Forcing her to be male..." and "Not accepting her"....

Which makes me broil with a LOT of rage. I already HATE the whole Trans war that is going on because of this exact issue! This iver sensitivity, this demanding of adjusting INSTANTLY. And the accusations of not accepting anything just because you rage quit over a joke about your microphone....

Totally unrelated: my bad (colored) Phoenix drawing seems to be getting quite a bit of attention on deviant art. roughly 52% of the people who've seen it have added it to their favorites bringing it to 38 views and 20 faves.

Not surprisingly, none of them are from any of my (new) watchers >.>

Yeah, especially she only made the change recently. It's going to take time for your friends to make the change.
