Gen Chat XV: A Whole New Chat

Beat the Queelag boss in Dark Souls 2. Her life bar said Princess Scorpios or something but fuck it, she was Queelag. I love that this is actually a good port which gives it a massive edge over DS1 immediately, but the actual game design falls here so far. Statues blocking goodies that, if it were DS1, we could just smash but, nope, must use valuable, limited, rare items in order to de-petrify enemies blocking paths. So dumb. Also, fuck those un-targetable phantoms that look like other players, I hate them. And why is the entire area leading up to a poison/toxic type boss nothing but curses? It makes no sense. If Queelag V2 was a curse based boss then it'd make sense but it doesn't, she's poison in an area filled with literal curse jars... Wut?

It's also stupid how weapon degradation is tied to frame rate. I mean, like, why? Makes no sense.

given that basically all of the story has been adapted already... the more rational fear i think is that he won't continue writing it instead of the production company being cross with him

DS2 is absolutely riddled with world building flaws. The bosses are mostly uncreative, some of the area transitions have impossible geometry, and the whole feel of interconnectedness from the first game is gone. These are just some of the flaws, but it's an inferior game in almost every way compared to its predecessor imo.

Either way, I just hope that the series gets a proper finish. It is easily one of my favroite anime.

since it wasn't posted, just wanted to mention to people that carrie fisher (princess leah) suffered a massive heart attack. she is in stable condition for now, but given the length she was unresponsive (15 plus minus with no pulse meaning no oxygen to the brain might have been as many as 30 the reports aren't clear) there is a very good chance if she wakes up she will never be able to act again

It's pretty drawn out imo. Some of the later areas are an absolute slog too.

Here's a dumb story about my inability to read:
I placed the orders for my own gifts a month back and ordered a 4gb version of the right gpu from amazon but misread thinking it was the 8gb version. It wasn't and I feel silly >.>

Never the less, I has RX 480 performance just minus ram.
