Emoticons started back in the late 1800s! And I had no idea that the Japanese created emoticons like these: - _ -, >.> , *.* , T_T , O.o etc.

I have found conflicting reports over the origin of emoticons. I'm very skeptical of that story, loom. Especially since it came from wikipedia.
