I hope the little guys can go tank class. That'd be the dumbest and greatest thing.

Just experience this^

It ended when I told the guy that I've never called microsoft support and that they shouldn't even have my number. I regret not adding "I built my computer myself and have always fixed any and all issues myself."

Gah, this has pissed me off, I feel so fucking insulted that they'd try to pull such bullshit on me.

That's is a good point there. 2D fighters go better with the D-pad. But Tekken is a 3D fighter, and anolog would be ideal here but that option is non existing. I guess I'm just trying to figure out if this is a deal breaker for the game. I like the game, but I hate the blisters.

Can't you push the analog button on the PS2 pad to make it function as a d-pad?

So. You invite a bunch of friends to see a movie. your closest friends never respond except for one who says no because he has no money; only for you to discover they all go two days later to the midnight show without inviting you - or even asking.

ouch...

Honestly social situations like that are really difficult to fix. It would seem that you're probably an "offender" in some way and the group doesn't want to hang out with you because you'll do or say something that makes everyone uncomfortable in some way...

I mean they're still kind of your friends, but it seems like they're trying to downgrade your "friendship status" so to speak...

Unfortunately I have experience in this specifically because my group of friends is in the weird process of trying to evade or push someone else out of the group, and no one wants to be honest and say that they don't want to be around that person very often anymore...

also tech advice!

Newegg has a couple of sales going on this weekend for graphics cards...

Of the AMD R9 series they have a

R9 280 for about $200 after rebates etc

or an R9 290 for $300 after rebates.

The question: Is the 290 worth the extra $100? It has one more GB of graphics memory and a faster processor but for someone like me who doesn't really care about maxing things out, but still wants an upgrade is it worth it?

Which ones in particular are you looking at? I see a Sapphire r9 280 with 3gb of gddr5 vram. That's already a gig more than me. o.O

Damn, and that card isn't that much more than how much my current one cost me a couple of years ago.

Anyhow, are you upgrading from a current gpu or are you buying one for the first time, and moving on from integrated graphics?

son of a.... YES, 290, GO GO GO!

the 280 is just a 7950, the R9 290 is on the level of the GTX 780 iirc

I want to build a new pc already. I can probably still use some of my current hardware, but I want to get a new cpu, currently have an amd phenom II x4. Also, want to get more/new ram. Lately my pc has had some small issues, read that it might be ram related. So I may as well buy a replacement/upgrade at the same time.

I still want to get an ssd to install my os. And as for gpu, yeah, I'd want a new one as well, currently have a gtx 650 ti 2gb.

An SSD is definitely worth it. I got one roughly a year ago and just love how snappy and quick boot ups and such are. Aside from that, go intel, it's far and away the better way to go in the long run. i5's and i7's are pretty much identical as far as gaming performance goes iirc, though that may change this gen.

Yeah, I was planning to switch to intel. Especially since my pc is my main gaming platform. When I originally built my pc, it was a compliment to my 360, so I just went with bang for buck. Now I want to invest more, but I don't currently have the spare monies, have to save for a couple of months.

Right now these are the 3 cards that seem to have the best deals:

290
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131544

280
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202099

gtx760
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127748

If I bought any of these I would sincerely hope to not have to upgrade for a very long time... that said after seeing the price of the GTX760 that's currently cheaper then the 290 which is tipping the scales for me a little

if it was any other 290 I'd say go for it, but reference coolers with so-so manufacturer..... the 280 from sapphire is the safer bet here. It's the current gen equivalent of my gpu and crushes the 760, though the extent to which it does may not be super noticeable. Talking a difference of like the 760 getting 62 fps while the 280 gets 65 or so.

That's the gpu that I have (EVGA). I must say it's pretty good, especially for the price.
