man, the new router I got for our house is much better. I actually have a decent connection in my room now. Smash still lags but it's actually playable now (in my room) and splatoon was fucking flawless!

I just spent a few hours researching and building a hypothetical gaming PC that won't be instantly out of date. $1,200 is my current total. Yep, it is still going to be a while before I dedicate to building one with my current funding...

I spent about 600$ (about 770 including monitor) for my rig and it can run a lot of things are high settings without much issue. I can do Skyrim with most settings on Med/High and that includes all the mods I have installed.

Geforce 6800 (I think off the top of my head), 16 gigs ram (just recently added 8. The cost above was just for 8 gigs). Dunno bout my processor and motherboard as my friend bought the parts (I give him the $ he builds it)- but everything was well under 800 and I play most games flawlessly. Mind you, I have yet to try something like Witcher but 95% games in my STEAM libary run flawlessly.

@Koenig, don't bother with the 960, 970 bare minimum. Also, if you use photoshop at all I'd go for an i7 otherwise I think the i5 is good. Last I checked i5 = i7 when it comes to gaming.

a 970 would be a full $100 extra. Also, you don't necessarily need water cooling for the cpu. The Cooler Master Hyper 212 (I have the + but I think it's called evo now) is only about $30 and is a great air cooler. Good enough for a bit of overclocking as well (if you want to do that, that is). Also, 500gb is likely too small now that games are starting to be 30-50 gigs. You could get a smaller SSD strictly for the OS and then a HDD, like 1-3tb, for storage, games and such.

My plan is to use my SSD for games that take a while to load while storing everything else on the HD,  generally I don't use much memory other than my games, but I can upgrade that in due time.

PS: Already spent all my coins

I am gonna get an SDD for Minecraft and The Sims 3. Those two games are getting very stupidly annoying with their load time. Sims 3 esp. It's barely playable.
