That reminds me, did any of you guys manage to pre-order the N3DS bundle that comes out on the 25th? It only took 9 months but the best N3DS is coming to NA... as part of an Animal Crossing home designer bundle with the amiibo cards and either 1 or 2 sets of AC face plates for $220

As much as i want to get the new 3DS, there is no reason to get it outside of Xenoblade. It really should have been the original design so that all of the games could have made use of its extra power and buttons.

A lot of next gen fighting games are going to be backwards compatible with last gen fight sticks, so I'd say just wait on it personally.
to my knowledge, only one current gen fighter is compatible with last gen sticks (Skullgirls 2nd Encore). I got that fight commander 4 controller which I've been using to play dead or alive 5 but, while better than the default, it simply isn't a good enough substitute. I'm thinking I may just save for a new stick sooner rather than later.

Ultra Street Fighter 4 has limited backwards compatibility, I've heard that MKX uses the skullgirls stick driver, and SF5 will probably have the same support as USF4

For real though most fighting game franchises express their plot via external media or with a weird combination of one or none of the available endings being canon.

It's a quirk of the genre probably in large part due to the need/uncertainty regarding sequels that usually do not move the plot forward significantly.
