My crap-top is affectionately named because it is well known to be a shit PC.

For dolphin you need a beast cpu. Other than that, some games do flat out not like to be emulated.

I wonder if it twould be possible to tip a game cube apart and integrate its guts into a standard PC simply for emulation...

But then again, why on earth would I need to do that if I already have a working gamecube to rip the guts out of?

Cool factor? I've seen that done with an xbox 360.

Perhaps, but I find the strength of a console being its simple plug n play use. Running it through a PC makes things more complicated than I would like.

Or you need to tweak a ton of settings. My PS2 emulator works pretty decently but it still needs tweaking because a lot of the 2D work ends up as black boxes :\

I never realized just how fast the gaming world progresses until I found that despite having a new Gaming CPU, it's actually no longer strong enough to play the best available anymore. =c

I remember when you couldn't properly emulate Super Mario Sunshine on account of the paint. For some reason you couldn't clean the paint on the first level of Noki Bay, so you couldn't get the shine on that level.

if you have an AMD cpu, this is true, if you have a recent-ish intel cpu (i3, i5, i7 series) this is false. The progression/advancement in cpus and gpus lately has been so minuscule it's kinda shameful.

they might have been saying on max setting or something?

the PC should be fine to play anything on medium low settings for a while.

in other news I still don't know what to make of this game (the fire emblem x megaten game)


I still feel like I would be more excited for it if the vastly superior looking persona 5 wasn't coming at the same time.
