Yeah it's pretty strange. The last few levels seem to jump around from insanely difficult to relatively easy.
I am looking forward to easier end levels
It's one of those games where I absolutely love the challenge though. The gameplay concept is so simple yet so refined and deep.
agreed, I love how challenging it gets but yet at the same time parts are just a giant mind fuck, haha

TL;DR: It is a remaster, not a crazy overhaul.

Not online someone playing on a somewhat dated PC, doing an upgrade, and then being able to crank up the resolution, texture quality, filtering, etc. It is, in many ways, the same base game, but the increase in processing power allows for a natural increase in rendering resolution, the use of higher quality assets made during production, better filtering on shadows/aliasing etc, and of course improved average framerate.
It is a true "HD port" in the same way that a lot of lot of PS2->PS3 games were, and provides the best "experience" for the given assets and their made quality.
The difference between TLoU: Remastered and something like, say, Wind Waker HD or Halo 2: Anniversary is that the latter seem to involve more drastic overhauls of rendering systems and/or assets that more closely constitute a "remake" instead of a HD port. Wind Waker reused most assets from the GCN build, touched up textures, but completely overhauled the lighting/shadow engine (for better or worse) that on a technical level accomplishes stuff that was never in the original build (like ambient occlusions). Halo 2: Anniversary is a new engine and totally new assets, even if mechanically the base game plays the same way.
Some of this may be true for TLoU: Remastered and we just haven't seen it yet, but I tend to look at this port less like the above two examples and more like Resident Evil 4. Improvements have been made, some artistically others through nature evolution of technology, but it's not a true remake or asset/engine overhaul like some ports/remakes have. It's taking the base assets and rendering of The Last of Us and dialing all these qualities up to better suit the PS4 hardware. That is an improvement and will be a clear one when playing, and TLoU already looked outstanding on the PS3, but expecting a massive, full "next generation" graphical showpiece is perhaps a bit unrealistic.
TL;DR: It is a remaster, not a crazy overhaul.

Re: Official All-Gaming Discussion Thread - Formally Zelda and Nintendo Thread
The main reason Bayonetta 3 could be a Wii U exclusive like Bayonetta 2 is because Platinum Games loved working with Nintendo as its publisher. The first Bayonetta game was published by Sega and was only available for the PS3 and Xbox 360. This is why people were surprised since that game wasn’t even available for any Nintendo console.
Speaking with CVG, the game’s developer Yusuke Hashimoto spoke more on Bayonetta 2 and his hopes to make a possible Bayonetta 3. He said he “would love to do it again” if given the opportunity to work with Nintendo for a second time. He also mentioned the team learnt a lot by working with Nintendo.
The main thing Nintendo did was allow Platinum Games the “freedom to create” Bayonetta 2 their own way. It wasn’t just Nintendo bossing them around telling them how Bayonetta 2 should be made. They bounced ideas back and forth and gave back reliable feedback to one another.
Bayonetta 2 launches exclusively for Wii U this October. If the game proves to be a success, we might also see Bayonetta 3 on the Wii U too.

Focused on 3DS games from third-party publishers, it will commence this Friday at 8pm Japanese Standard Time (midday UK / 4am PDT / 7am EDT).
Nintendo Directs are often broadcast simultaneously in Japan, Europe and America, but Nintendo has yet to announce plans for any western events.
Nintendo sold 12.24 million 3DS units in its most recent financial year, taking lifetime sales to 43.33 million, while annual software sales came in at 67.89 million units, pushing lifetime sales to 162.92 million.
The company expects to sell 12 million 3DS units worldwide this financial year, with key first-party software releases including October's Super Smash Bros for Wii U & 3DS and November's Pokemon Ruby & Sapphire.
May 2014's 3DS system update introduced new parental control features, while December 2013's 7.0.0-13 update added Miiverse support and the ability for owners to tie their accounts with Wii U.

I don't get it : |
Also, until I can find someone saying otherwise, all the supposed PS4 shots that were leaked are apparently just PS3 bullshots.

Because the other systems didn't want to bother with the sequel. So nintendo is all like "Dude, we'll pay for it and on top of that give you full creative control and even help you make it"
why would they want to give it to others after being treated so awesome by Nintendo?

Once again, pre-rendered cutscene comparisons :\
Legit, at least for the next couple minutes
edit: There's considerable black crush going on in both gifs despite said crush not being there in the trailer or game....wat

Fatal Frame Wii U / 15 Jul 2014
Fatal Frame Wii U Reveal Coming This Week

Streaming event also will detail multimedia projects for horror series.
By Evan CampbellKoei Tecmo will pull back the curtain on Fatal Frame Wii U on July 17.
Nintendo tweeted that there will be a NicoNico stream for the Fatal Frame sequel later this week (via Siliconera), which will discuss the upcoming horror game for Wii U as well as media projects for the video game franchise. Announced earlier this year, Koei Tecmo is expanding the Fatal Frame series — also known as Project Zero in Europe and just Zero in Japan — with a live-action film and comic.

Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse - Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse Nintendo Wii Video
Not much is known about Fatal Frame Wii U, except for the fact it's in development. The streaming event will be the first time we learn more about the survival horror game from Koei Tecmo and Nintendo.
However, there is no guarantee Fatal Frame Wii U will see a western release. While the Fatal Frame II remake for Wii came out in Europe and Australia (Nintendo of America didn't localize it, however), Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse only released in Japan.
The Fatal Frame Wii U stream starts at 2:30 p.m. in Sydney, 5:30 a.m. in London, and 12:30 a.m. EDT on July 1

It's on cell phones for god's sake. It MUST get on the Wii U. It makes sense. It's literally the only console that will be able to mimic the PC's controls/hot bar functionality!
