I'm not doing to bad, it kinda sucks I can't swap anything out cause my bench anime are doing horrible compared to the ones in my active team, lol, I should have picked No Game No Life

Essentially, my way of looking at mal rankings and whatnot, is just a point of reference for what I may like. First step is checking the recommendations, then choosing recommendations based on the synopsis, then overall ranking(maybe).ColumbianLoom wrote:Darth Luna wrote:Yeah I know, but don't really get it. I'm not exactly completely on the same level as mal anyhow. FMA brotherhood is ranked number one. I don't even like it.
edit: HOW THE FUCK IS FAIRY TAIL (2014) ALREADY IN THE TOP 30?!?!?!
Ugh, this is why I don't put too much stock in that.
Also, I said that the main reason I've lagged it to watch One Week Friends is because of the subject of memory loss. I just...gah.
There's some things with MAL that don't makes sense but I think for the most part it's pretty spot on. Fail Tail '14 is probably so high because of hype and people already know the series is good. I think MAL is the best way to check the quality of a show. For the most part, fans don't lie.

Thoughts?
I just care more about what I think and those that I know.
As for bynhildr, no thoughts, it's incredibly forgettable.

Well of course it all comes down to what you like in the end, but I think it's a good way of finding what's good and how the western anime community views a show. MAL is pretty spot on I would say.
And there's just no way I'm going to get you to like Brynhildr is there? Lol.
@Squirrel
I had no idea about No Game No Life till the day it came out haha. Also, I expected Soul Eater Not to be way more popular.

Re: The WSS Anime Thread
Oh well, I guess we can't all share the same tastes :/
Anyways, I just watched the first episodes of Kyousou Giga (well episode 0), Durarara, and Baccano.
Kyousou Giga
This series has to be as spastic and wild as FLCL. The animation, sound, and music were all top notch, even though I had no idea what was going on plot wise lol!
Baccano
I was told the watch the english dub because it's set in 1930s America and I did and the english dub was fantastic! I'm not even going to bother with the subbed version. I love series with multiple main characters. So I should really like this show and the premise seems very cool.
Durarara
This is another show with multiple main characters so I think I'll like it too. The first episode was interesting. Everybody says this series has a slow start because it builds up all the characters. People say this anime is presented more like a novel than a typical shounen anime and I like that! I prefer animes with a good set up and then become amazing later on. There's too many shounen animes where it level offs too early. I was looking through the comments of the first episode and so many people say this series is a masterpiece so I'm looking forward to see where this show will go.

From what I'm seeing is that they're are very good at story telling and character building. I shifted my focus on going through Baccano right now and it's so awesome how everything intertwines together! There's like 7 stories all being told at the same time and it's done so well. I love it.
And I see that you've only seen 8 episodes of Durarara, I'm guessing that it's still building up in the world and characters. Everyone says that it gets really good a little bit later down the line so I bet you're really close to getting to a good part.

Re: The WSS Anime Thread
Oh my god. I just finished Baccano and it was literally one of the best shows I've ever watched. I've never seen a show be able to tell so many different stories at once and be able to make sense of it all and intertwine everything perfectly. The character development and storytelling was topnotch, probably some of the best storytelling I've ever seen in an anime.
Just wow. 10/10 from me. You guys have to give it a try.
http://myanimelist.net/anime/2251/Baccano!
Hmmmm kind of reminds me of Maid in Manhattan lol.

@Luna
Understandable. Far Cry 3 is a lot of fun. Once I get out of college there's going to be a lot of video games I'm going to have to play as well so I might have to take a little break from anime to catch up on all the games I've been holding off playing for a while.
@Squirrel
It's about these different groups of mafias, bandits, and police in New York in the 1930s. And there's a mystery behind this formula for immortality that all of them are trying to figure out. It's really awesome!
Btw, make sure to watch english dub. It's by far the best version. It makes much more sense to have everything in english and also, you get all the New York accents, Italian accents, and more. The english dub is the best dub I've ever listened to. It was really well done.

Re: The WSS Anime Thread
No Game No Life ep was great.
Chaika:
- Spoiler:
- Loved the Laputa: Castle in the Sky references.
Chaika:
- Spoiler:
- That was really interesting. Also, red Chaika looks older and is quite "busty." From what we've seen so far, seems like she was split up into multiple versions of herself with the same goal, yet different motivations. Also, personalty seems to be different. This brings much more intrigue into the rumors of all the fake chaika's that were already caught. Dammit, if I recall correctly, it was implied or even stated that many of them have died. This is angering me, I'm for some reason gaining parental type feelings toward chaika.

NGNL
This show just continues to impress me. Can't wait till next episode!!!
Chaika
Ya you nailed it.
- Spoiler:
- Things are getting way more interesting. Multiple Chaikas? The plot is thickening a lot! I love it!
I know Alberic's group mentioned that were multiple Chaikas before, but it didn't quite click when I heard about it then.
So I'm guessing that the Emperor must have split Chaika, have each Chaika with the same goal of gathering the body parts (probably to get resurrected), and intentionally wiped their memories so there wouldn't be any conflict with the goal.
And I know what you mean about feeling defensive over the Chaikas! But I think some probably already died trying to get the body parts. Remember the guy in the mansion? And how he was surprised to see Chaika? What if one of the Chaikas already went there to get the body part and died?
Also red Chaika is hot!
