Darth Luna wrote:Well, like I said, Mekakucity is on hold for now. And I don't know if the art and style of the show will annoy you when you watch Bakemonogatari, but it is me. I get that it's the same studio, but this is ridiculous.
As for magic highschool,
- Spoiler:
yeah those parts are very condensed. Also, how Tatsuya announces he's going to the practice facility all of a sudden, they don't even mention that that's the place that was under attack, so how did he figure that out(fyi, in the manga and I suppose novel, they get a radio message from some of the other members saying that the practice facility was under attack). So yeah, that annoyed me a bit. Again, it wasn't anywhere near making it bad, just so noticeable to me.
Also, I have to say that so far a lot of the whole thing of the series portraying people who want equality, and the manga goes more into depth and ridicules them for wanting so. In the end, I understood what the author was trying to say, but he explained it pretty badly. Came off sounding as "people who want equality are just lazy." It's hard to describe, but it'll become more noticeable when the arc ends. That's one thing that's been bothering me this whole time. Tatsuya does mention that he's an exception because of his own talent, but that if he lacked it he'd be giving in to the "delusion" of equal treatment. Ultimately I understood what was being said, but for a while I was a bit confused. Especially if one looks at it as an allegory for racial discrimination and whatnot.
Anyhow, blance/egalite just kept coming off to me as sleezy. I wasn't sure how to see them, but I liked how the arc ends it. I'd say more, but it'd be spoilerish.
I don't mind the style, but maybe that's because I haven't watched the Monotagari series. What I like about Nisekoi or even Madoka Magica is that it still has the abstract style, but they're still very different. Monotagari and City Actors seem to be a little too close for comfort.
I'll trsut your judgment on Magic High School. Hopefully they do explain it well at the end of the arc.
And for now, I can feel for the Blanche/Egalite group but they're probably not what I think they are. Man, I just want to keep on watching!!!!
Darth Luna wrote:Yeah, that's how I felt too. XDSquirrel500 wrote:I'm not gonna lie, I'm only half way through Nagi but I'm already thinking of rating it a 10 on MAL
I second this!
That half way point is amazing and I was left dazed after it! It was a long wait till the second half started lol. I was so eager to see what would happen next.

I've watched, and really liked, several shaft shows. This is the first time it's bothering me at to this level.

World is Still Beautiful
I think it's safe to say that this is my favorite romance anime of the season now.
The blend of comedy, romance, and seriousness I feel is so well executed. And the relationship between Nike and Livi is so pure and moving that I always have a smile on my face when I'm watching them.

Hmm...finished the first ep of Sekoku no Dragonar. Not sure what to think so far. It gives of the feeling of the type of show that it could go in a dark and serious direction that would probably be great or in a comedy echii direction that will be fucking terrible and nothing but fanservice.

BTW, I'm being sarcastic, it's obviously the latter. I'm just waiting to see how bad this is gonna get before I drop it.
Okay, dropped. This is the type of terrible dribble that I hate. I should have known it was this type of show. Oh well, gave it a 3.

I swear I'm cursed when it comes to the Spring season. Last year, Spring was by far my weakest season, I see it's staying the course this year as well. Though I've dropped 4 shows already this season.

attack on titan
- Spoiler:
- love it! it's kinda dark in such a good way! I like Mikasa, I have a feeling she's going to be a badass, epseically after those bullies ran off after seeing her with Eren. At first when those soldiers came back and gave that lady her son's arm my first thought was what the fuck, then they said it was the only thing left of him. And was it just me or did the huge titan at the end had some wierd resident evil licker look to it, lol.

You haven't watched the sub have you?
And regarding to Mikasa, just you wait! She's by far one of the most awesome characters in the show.
And I thought all the vocies were great. There was some dialog change, but it was still pretty much the same. I like Armin's voice more in the english dub more than the japanese dub. Less whiny-sounding.

Ya!
And I finished My Teen Romantic Comedy. It was great! It get a 9/10 from me.
I'm hoping season 2 we get more romance though. This season was more about building friendships and learning about the characters. This is suppose to be a romance anime after all and I was surprised to see that there was barely any romance in it!

Brynhildr in the Darkness
Good episode! They're still following the manga very well and they're setting up everything nicely. But I think after this arc is where they're going to change things and skip a huge chunk of the manga. Which is an utter shame because that is by far some of the best parts of the entire series. I'm totally bias about this series because the two arcs I'm referring to are so unbelievably good that these introduction arcs will seem like nothing in comparison.
So I'm having trouble putting myself in the shoes of anime-only-watchers for this show. My guess is that anime-only-watchers are thinking, "this show is good, but it isn't fantastic.
One Week Friends
This show is just so damn cute and emotional! By far one of the best slice of life shows of the season. Every episode so far has been absolutely great. Luna, I'm surprised you haven't watched this one yet.

Re: The WSS Anime Thread
Yeah I know, but don't really get it. I'm not exactly completely on the same level as mal anyhow. FMA brotherhood is ranked number one. I don't even like it.
edit: HOW THE FUCK IS FAIRY TAIL (2014) ALREADY IN THE TOP 30?!?!?!
Ugh, this is why I don't put too much stock in that.
Also, I said that the main reason I've lagged it to watch One Week Friends is because of the subject of memory loss. I just...gah.

There's some things with MAL that don't makes sense but I think for the most part it's pretty spot on. Fail Tail '14 is probably so high because of hype and people already know the series is good. I think MAL is the best way to check the quality of a show. For the most part, fans don't lie.
I don't think I'll be going up in the rankings any time soon lol. For my first time, I don't think I'm doing horrible but I'm definitely not doing good either lol. Squirrel, you actually did good though. Being in the top 160 is pretty good.
