Anime Chat VIII

I'm only guessing. It doesn't bother me, though, so I let it go. Also, I watched it only in Japanese, so that was a moot point for me. Though I will say I was surprised when my brother who only watches dubs, didn't call it "maji." I was totally expecting that to be the English translation.

I still want to know the reasoning behind it.  They did the same think with Eureka seven and it drove me mad. IT IS "Yur-E-Ka" NOT "Yur-wreck-ah"

I will say I did get annoyed about Eureka 7. But the fact that I hated the show means I was didn't have to deal with it.

Lol.  I never actually finished Eureka Seven, I may give it another shot eventually but it never managed to grab my attention before.

So...I have a few days left until classes start...any other good dubbs I should watch?

Eww, now I really wish I had a recommendation. But the only things I can think of are either the Tenchi Muyo series or Slayers.

By all rights I should be loving this show, it has the style, setting, and writting that I like; but something just seems...off.  I can't place my finger on it but it is getting under my skin.

One of the oddest shows I've forced myself to watch. Fetishes being some kind of power ability is a highlight of this show's absurdity.

I do not recommend this to watch, tho. Much better shows out there, trust me.

I know that, I ranted about it a couple of months ago.

Eureka 7 is starting to pick up around mid way, but I still don't have a clue wtf is going on.

I don't know if I did. I may have, along with Loom. I mostly just proclaim what I am enjoying. That's essentially a recommendation to anyone with enough interest.

Imo, It started off fantastic and introduced a number of great idea's and characters, however...it never figured out what to do with them and by midway the story had completely fallen apart.  I don't just mean broke down either, the story made no sense what-so-ever.

I agree with that impression. I just recall that the ending left me thinking "lolwat."

The ending...made no sense.  Not even in context to the rest of the show... It was just pulled out of someones rear-end.

It is a shame.  That show had so much potential, more so than most anime I watch.  The animation was solid, the style was unique, the characters were human, and the various "plot" devices had loads of potential; too bad none of those were ever capitalized on.  I honestly believe they put the story together by writting down all of the above, throwing it in the air, shooting darts at it and then using whatever stuck.

read the vol 14 of aot. it was the best so far

Just watched and didn't finish the first episode of Juuou Mujin no Fafnir. In case the "didn't finish" part didn't tip you off, I didn't like it. Another shitty harem series.

Also watched the first ep of Death Parade. I'm not sure what to think about it. It didn't really do much outside of introduce us to what we should expect from this show.
