Ugh...This picture sums me up right about now. Just add an annoying mosquito trying to suck my blood and were golden.

You know, I make a very detailed discussion/argument about how the fatalities in MKX are lacking in terms of blood - on top of all the other issues I have with the game and the only point someone argues with me is the fact I don't consider the fatalities bloody enough and thinks I am being childish and immature...

Re: Gen Chat 03: The Laughing man
*sighs* NetherRealm already announcing 2 more costume packs. 4$ each but you only get 3 costumes for 3 characters (1 each)

Online is VERY touch and go on PC. Most matches are dropped and very lag friendly - it's one of the biggest let downs for the PC port. Check the STEAM Forums on the subject - people are ticked off. However, I usually don't go online with the MK series to begin with. In all honesty, I usually play single player and work on the Krypt and unlocking endings or trying the challenges. If I do play with people it's local.

GameFaqs and Steam forums have several negative or meh reviews. Esp when it comes to fatalities (sonya's and Liu Kang's are two of the most discussed).
I hold MK and Ed Boon with very high standards as Ed has always been a symbol of someone who makes every version of MK even better than the last but so much was either dumb downed (towers) or removed completely (level fatalities) that I was very disappointed in this one.
The lack of blood really is one of the kickers.
Look at this - first there is absolutely no rib-cage to be seen. It just vanishes completely. Second - JAx barely reacts at all. He grunts a few times and goes silent. In previous games, they would be screaming in agony throughout the entire fatality.
Again, the cut is perfectly clean like Johnny used a knife and finally there is little blood. The dude's face should be drenched in blood as should his hands and the stuff should be pouring out instead of teeny tiny little spurts.
MK9 had the blood remain on the characters during fatalities. Now they are very clean and sterile
- see how the blood stays on her face?
And now she is perfectly clean and tidy after devouring someone's face.
Not to say ALL fatalities are sterile (Tasty Treat is awesome), but most are either very imaginative - Liu's throat rip? Johnny's Improv? WTF does Sonya summon drones to do her work for her? Cowboy's Sand Grenade? - or barely show blood.
I miss the creativity that goes with the characters.
And again, Reptile's acid fatality is horrible considering the amount of torture we saw Acid do in MK9.
Most fatalities are just cutting people up. :\ It used to be most were great and some were lacking, now it is the other way around.
Again this is just me and the high standards I have for this franchise :-\ That's pretty much it. I do like the updated moves, the brutalities, some of the variations and whatnot. The gore and violence is very meh though and I don't like the broken PC port that I have to deal with.
Their response:
PilgrimPud wrote:My brain really doesn't compute things like lack of bloooood and gore and fatalities being a negative. Shit, when we play everyone pauses the game to rematch as quick as possible skipping fatalities completely.
I'm not trying to insult you but major points of issue you have with the game boil down to "its not bloody enough" and they come across as childish and immature.
In my eyes the lack of impossible to live through damage models(X-Rays and many, many moves where you get shot in the head not withstanding) and blood fountain necks make the game more grounded in reality* and thus more disturbing.
*A reality with interdimensional blood feuds over magic thingies and undead warrior king monks.

all this vidya game drama, shame...
lack of blood and gore in a game all about blood and gore is a legit complaint.

If you want a game with more realism, play something other than Mortal Kombat. It's clearly not for you.

Re: Gen Chat 03: The Laughing man
You know, usually people have reactions like "wow" or "Disgusting" when they see Mortal Kombat Fatalities.
I, however, just laugh at it. They can kill people in the most ridiculous of ways. From ludicrous launching kicks/uppercuts to things like Baraka's Take A Spin Fatality in MK9. They're all hilarious.
... I'm a terrible person, aren't I?
