Also - three levels completed for Mario Maker. I am working on a storyline for Bowser. It's you having him break out of jail, swim through the sewer, escape the castle, then steal an airship
*was decent with Sub-Zero*
I needs Tekken 7!

@Mazer: I offered you an apprenticeship in Fallen London. Should you ever play it again, you can accept it to gain extra XP in some of your skills.

Gonna try and finish it up today so I can move on to Mad Max.

LegendX48 wrote:That's not true either. Skullgirls, and from what I can recall when I tried out Persona 4 Arena, there were no 1 frame links for basic combos. Skullgirls in particular is like perfect in this regard. Most of the fighters I've played in general do not operate on 1 frame links for everything. SF4 is just so asinine in demanding absolute perfection just for a simple 2+ hit combo when no other game I've played requires god like skills to play on the most basic levels. All I was trying to do yesterday was Cammy's Ultra trials but trial 12 took me 3 hours @_@ and it's just a simple 4 hit combo. That should not be necessary for something so simple.Ochi wrote:
Um.... I'm not sure how to say it but it's not about analyzing frame data, it's about execution. Yes frame data does come into play in terms of how strict the timing is for accomplishing a link or or a cancel (along with generally indicating what combos are possible), but your assertion that " THAT IS FUCKING ABSURD AND NO OTHER FIGHTER DOES THAT" is patently false. Literally almost every 2D fighting game has difficult links when you get to that point, the aforementioned "one-frame-link" is simply part of the genre.
That said SF5 is going to be a different beast that SF4 in terms of the combo system and combo potential, so while it will on average be less difficult to execute basic combos, there will still likely be a few one frame links that form the basis of more complex combo options.
If you want to practice on PC I have SF4 Arcade Edition.
Ah, your gripe is with trial mode and 1-frame links being "basic"
Pro-tip: most of the combos in trial mode are not representative of what actual people do. Trials mode is basically jank after the first 12 (at least in sf4 prior to ultra) or so and you have to read between the lines of what they're trying to teach you. Many people do not use one frame link combos specifically because the timing is so strict, but you should be able to do a couple now and again on command (primarily links from normals into special moves like crouching light punch into cannon spike)
1 frame links from normals to more normals are mostly for doing stylish optimized combos, but you almost never see them any level of play
Don't take it to heart, realize that the most of the trials in trial mode ARE NOT the basic combos for a character, go to shoryuken or event hubs for a better sense of basic bread and butter stuff
As for the other games, Skullgirls is full of one frame links once you get past a certain skill threshold, especially if you play a character like fillia and are trying to do aerial rushdown or extended air combos in general

Judging from the matches I've played, the entire cast has a speed advantage over Mila + just a straight and blunt advantage when up close in general. It's either be defensive and lose slowly, or lose faster. That and, unlike a majority of the characters, all of her moves can be seen coming from a mile away for extremely easy counters, which is another hurdle since all her combos are high attacks and getting people into the air simply isn't possible sometimes. Regardless, Azuardo won 30, I won 3, so that's something >.> lol
Sounds like you need to get your counter and evasion game up then if your're stuck on the defensive
Like does any of this stuff still work in the current version of the game? There are a few counter hit combos (ie you push buttons when they do and win) and then just combos as a result of landing an actual counter

just a warning on mediafire: it's covered in ads, and has several fake "download now" banners that try to get you to download download managers and junk like that

Re: Gen Chat 8: Squishy Squishy
@ochi, That's DoA5 Ultimate, I have Last Round (which is on 1.04 at the moment). I know there's at least one combo I've seen on youtube in general that doesn't work anymore where Mila could pick an opponent back up off the floor (after being launched) and onto their feet with a low kick.
My biggest issue is that all combos can be countered during any and all hits. Mila's moves are extremely obvious so anyone I play online can very easily see where to counter. She seems kind of similar to Steve from Tekken and, at least judging by how my brother plays him, they have similar weaknesses in that they nothing but high attacks and have shit defense against kicks and low attacks.
edit: watching more of that video, those "Guaranteed" combos are bullshit. They aren't guaranteed to work and will, in fact, fail if you try them online. The floor grapples especially have 5 openings to escape.
