So I was woken up at 745 am by my mom to tell me my dad was arrested by the irs/treasury this morning.....

so..yeah...my day has been rather lousy.

Long story short: My dad is an accountant. One of his clients is a very well off individual. Well someone was upset with this client and sued.

The lawsuit hits the client and my dad. IRS gets involved and this IRS agent is 100% positive my dad is guilty of Fraud. However he is unable to prove anything. Every time he is proven wrong, this agent gets angrier and angrier.

Today was the final day of the investigation. There's zero evidence my dad has ever done anything wrong but the agent sent out the arrest summon anyways to try and drag this out longer....

thanks. It's so annoying. Sometimes I can recreate stuff almost perfectly and other times I can't do shit right from reference >_<

wait, I thought they had dropped that since it's been so long.

Midnight tonight was the deadline...so to extend it, they had him arrested.

Just got the update from my mom - he's been released. The trial is in December in California. The client is providing his grade-A personal lawyers to defend my dad...I think he'll be fine...but there's always that fear...


The sad thing is, if my dad was out of town as usual or if he and mom just went on a day trip...the cops wouldn't have found them and it would have been all over at midnight...

Do NOT play on Hard mode. Holy shit I need to destroy something right now. It's not even "Hard," everything does double damage or, if you have half health or certain levels where you'd ordinarily be perfectly fine, you get one hit killed by fucking common enemies. Not to mention, even with full health, if an enemy grabs you, you're dead. Why? THE GAME HAS ZERO INVINCIBILITY FRAMES. You are constantly vulnerable ALL OF THE FUCKING TIME. Get knocked down or are currently in a struggle with another enemy? Game doesn't fucking care, any enemy can come up and wail on you while your currently grabbed or on the floor after being tossed around.

ZERO invincibility frames, NO EXCEPTIONS, EVERYONE DOES DOUBLE DAMAGE, a simple grab that ordinarily does a quarter health damage, or even half, can result in a one hit ko if there's more than one enemy in the immediate area.

Ill just take this snippet from your personalty type that we did the other day:

Seems about right.

In all seriosness though, "Hard" modes in most games is complete bollocks.  Very few games are legitimately hard, but are instead cheap and punishing.

Just talked to me dad...he has a good sense of humor about it. Seems like the police and federal marshalls treated him very nicely despite everything...

That is why "Hard" mode in 99.99% of games is bullshyt. The only game who had a true Hard mode that I've played is GoldenEye.

Hardmode: Instead of making you take 4x damage...you need to do more and even harder missions to complete each stage; pushing your stealth abilities to the edge.

Also, speaking of hard mode's, I've read that for The Witcher 3 that enemy AI changes depending on difficulty o.O

Have yet to test that though.

Goldeneye and I think RE4 are the only games that had any real kind of legitimate difficulty settings, and in the case of RE4 is was dynamic and not could no chosen by the player.
