Gen Chat 9: THE HORROR!

I am totally going to do that Book of the Dead

I am sorry chat has been dead lately. I blame those not posting. I am sorry for not being active. Been stupid busy lately. I dunno whats going on anymore

Oh yeah, so the other day, mum's marriage certificate arrived and from it, I learned something. The name of her father. I FINALLY KNOW MY GRANDFATHER'S NAME.
Neither me or my brothers knew the name. I was tripping out so much when I saw it. I thought my mum knew nothing of her father, she comes off as much whenever we ask, but there was his fucking name.
We kinda scolded her, since she mislead us all these years.

IS there a reason she kept it? What was the name?

She doesn't like talking about her father at all. But from what she has said, which we were only able to pry out of her after we all became adults is that she doesn't like him because he listened to his mother and didn't marry my grandmother, because she already had children from a previous marriage before my mum.
My grandfather's mother was extremely religious and didn't like that she already had kids. Incidentally, my grandfather already had a daughter with someone else before my mum was born. Anyhow, great grandma told him to take my mother as an infant and raise her with another woman picked by her, along with the other daughter, as their children. My grandmother refused to let that happen, so my mum became estranged from her father and I guess she hated him for choosing that path.
Also, she told us that when I was like in late middle or early high school, she'd gotten word that he was dying and wanted to contact her. Also, he'd apparently left her an inheritance, but mum refused all of those things from a "stranger." At least, she said that was her response to the people who tried to contact her.
Me and my brothers understood why she did it, but also felt that she should have been pragmatic and taken in, since she was a single mother raising 6 children. But I think it was around the time that my grandmother had died and my mum was bitter about that since she hadn't seen her in years, over a decade and didn't even get to say goodbye to her.
My mum's history is really complicated and she hasn't really told us much in clear details, to be honest.

JEez...if this wasn't happening.happened to you, I would have said that is out of a book. That's both complicated and twisted (not sick twisted. More like very detailed)

Shit get's crazier when it gets to the story of her early years here in the US.

Ever stop and wonder what your life is like vs your parents? I mean mine has been a bit crazy in itself but then you hear stories from their generation and you are like wtf?

I always trip out when I hear the stories, but when I tell people about my life, they think it's pretty crazy as well.

Yeah, I was a wreck. Lost a lot of weight. No sleep. parents said that I was jumping at every little thing because of how tense I was. Had rings under my eyes...even my friends' parents were worried to death about me
