Seriously thinking I am going to have to set up an intervention for my room-mate. The kid is so far gone up his own ass.

Do any of you all have any good advise for interventions? Aside from getting people my roomate (mostly) respects, I don't know what else to do right now. So far I have 4 people lined up with the same worries.

Sadly, I do not. We've tried it several times in our family without much success until he went too far.

I think I am slowly understanding what is it about Rick and Morty that prevents me from liking it a much as everyone else. The show, the fans, and the writers basically have this superiority complex with acting like the show is a lot smarter than what it really is.

I saw a large argument in a forum. Someone basically said that they did not find Pickle Rick funny. Everyone who argued and denounced his opinion basically said that he was not smart enough to get the subtleties of the smart humor buried inside the dumb humor.  

To me, the show is a R-rated Big Bang theory - using scientific principals and cynicism mixed with dumb humor. The problem is that unlike BBT that knew it was a dumb show, R&M acts like it is a very smart, genius style show which sophisticated humor hidden beneath all the nonsense.

I like R&M...but I like their episodes that are more serious. Like when we get actual character development but unfortunately, this development is never really permanent. I was actually very irritated with how they handled Rick escaping the Space Federation. The entire 2nd half of the season 2's final episode was Rick finally coming to terms that he is ruining his family's life. We spend the entirety of the final act with a depressed Rick turning himself in and making a call to make sure his family is take care of...only for it to be revealed that he didn't give a rat's ass about his family, that he did it to destroy the government, and then made it a point to convince his daughter to getting a divorce.

All character development gone. Out the window. And the idea of Rick turning a 1 to a Zero and that was the cause of the entire Federation's money to be null in void (When all they had to do was revert it) causing a universe wide revolt...is not smart writing. It's not even dumb writing. It was lazy...

I agree. I think it has a lot more "Smart" humor. It doesn't blatantly constantly rely on pop references for every episode though since it does exist in "our world", we do get to see things like marvel and star wars. Plus there is a lot more character development, psychological issues, and growth.

I agree in regards to Rick & Morty. I still love the show, but it and its fans are a bit too smug with themselves to actually realize that most of the humor falls flat outside of the context of the show. I too, was very disappointed by Rick's regression in the third season after the second season finale. Again, I still enjoyed it.

It's a game that part of the Jackbox party pack. It's really fun, and the best part, if you want to do multiplayer, you just need 1 copy of the game, and the other players can go to this website. You can get it on steam, and me describing it won't do any justice, I recommend watching a youtube video on it, it's really entertaining.

@Mazer: I finished Assassination Classroom.

I liked it, and although its not beating out some of my favorite shows, it did manage to strike a number of emotional cords that most shows only manage to piss me off while trying to do so (Angel Beats can eat its heart out, AC trumps that overrated claptrap easily).
