Re: WSS Anime Thread Vol. II
@Luna
I gotcha. Well I was big fan of Yugioh when I was younger so I've never not liked card game shows haha.
On another note, I finished the first route of the Fate/Stay Night Visual Novel this weekend when I was on my camping trip (that's right, I brought my computer on a camping trip.....).
I have to say because of this, I'm liking Visual Novels more and more. I've only played a few but they're something that I actually like. I thought I would never like them, but I definitely surprised myself.
Anyways, the F/SN VN is great. It blows the original anime out of the water. I cannot wait till the ufotable adaptation this fall!

- Kawai Complex:
- That's a good point, I guess the relationship wasn't meant to be, but I still found it pretty sad how it ended.
And yes, drunk Ritsu was awesome! If there's another season I want to see more of drunk Ritsu haha!

Re: WSS Anime Thread Vol. II
Episode 2 of Hellsing Ultimate has been watched.
The animation quality, the gore, and the overall story telling is so much more superior than the original series. Omg.

Just watched 1-12 of the Fairytail continuation. I forgot how annoying "One more episode" syndrome is when the next episode is not out yet. I F'ing hate waiting for episodes like these.

Indeed, I've been feeling the exactly same, which is why I stopped watching and let the eps build up a bit. Should have waited longer.

I guess I could watch the newest 30 episodes of Detective Conan, but sadly most of them are not subbed.

I have the first season a 9 and then the second a 10. After Story is a triumph, to say the least. The best slice of life anime ever created and probably will hold that title for many years to come.

I was going to try and binge through Fairy Tale, but I instead, I was talked into going through Hunter x Hunter. People say HxH is one of the best shounens ever created and that it gets very intense. I don't really hear the same praise for Fairy Tale so Fairy Tale will be on the back burner for a quite a long time for me now.
So far, I'm really enjoying HxH.

It's a girl!
...Granted...Anime has a way of confusing the perception of gender on a daily basis.

Read this, it's a one shot and only 16 pages long, you won't regret it!

@ColumbianLoom. I do highly recommend watching Fairytail when you get the chance. I personally enjoyed it a lot more than most anime I have watched.
(Though keep in mind enjoyment =/= quality; Fairytail is a feelgood show that just happens to have a story attached to it)

I enjoy Fairy Tail as well, but there's a lot of frustrations for me. Especially
- Spoiler:
- the fact that it's always so close to killing someone off, but backs off at the last moment. You get all prepared emotionally, it brings to the brink of tears and then it's all ok.

Re: WSS Anime Thread Vol. II
Once again, it is a feel good show. I agree with you entirely on that observation, but I also find that I enjoyed it more because of it; though that is more because of what I was looking for in the show rather than my own preference.

Re: WSS Anime Thread Vol. II
I guess I just hate that it feels like manipulation and that I'm being lied to.
- Spoiler:
- Now when I read, I just roll my eyes at those parts and just wonder how it's gonna fake it.

I see. And I bet it has some epic battles?

It just sounds very similar to Naruto to me. Naruto does the same thing.
- Spoiler:
- A lot of people die and then there's some jutsu that can save everyone. Like in the Pain battle.
The only thing that bugs me about HxH is that it's a total sausage fest. Other than that, it's great.

Re: WSS Anime Thread Vol. II
Their are epic fights in almost every episode, but they are almost a satire of themselves. It is almost a running gag that if there is a town it will probably be in ruins by the end of the episode. That said, it is a very lighthearted; death is a constant threat but you know that just a bluff. Comedy and character interaction are major parts of the show, and it takes a lot of unique spins on every day things. If you are looking for an anime that leaves you feeling happy after each episode then Fairytail is a great bet.

Re: WSS Anime Thread Vol. II
I like the characters and would like for there to be some romance, but I know it's not possible and even if there was, I don't think the author would do it well.

He does troll a few characters with the notion of romance though, poor Juvia...
