Rather slow moving romantic comedies.Luna wrote:Comedy shows?xXJus10Xx wrote:Currently watching "Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun".

I really like the characters in this show, too.

Not really a typical romantic comedy show, though. It's just comedy, romance takes a back seat completely. The characters are great though. I love Seo, she's the most awesome.

Seo has a bunch of loose screws in her head, as far as I can tell. XD

Re: Anime Chat VIII
I finished Eureka 7. It had a lot of things I really liked (IE Its style, premise, characters) However the ending left a very bad taste in my mouth. Not a bad ending, but very much in the Taboo region of what I look for from anime. I really get the feeling it shared the same writers as X'amd. (Which I loved and hated for the same reasons) Though there were still a bunch of unanswered questions and contrived conclusions that further made me dislike the ending.
I would like to see another anime like it, especially considering the pro's of this series are the exact thing I want in all anime; however I refuse to accept it until the writers come back to earth for a few minutes to write a more realistic conclusion. Simply put, you have done something wrong if your anime can somehow surpasses my suspension of disbelief.

they start with
- Spoiler:
hange and levi torturing a member of the mps, then it shows the mps taking historia and eren, and finishes with levi in a shoot out with a former friend who is a serial killer.
It gets even crazier and more awesome from there. Look forward to more..
I bet the next few characters will be just as intense also do they go into more detail about
- Spoiler:
levi's past since they now revealed that he has the same last name as mikasa?
Nope, Levi has his own prequel manga that explains where he came from and stuff so that won't be in the upcoming chapters.
you mean no regrets? I got the first volume I just haven't gotten around to it, doesn't it go into more detail about Erwin's past too?

Hmm...don't know what this means, but I noticed that when I watch dubbed anime, I tend to not pay ass much attention to a show than when I do subbed.

Yeah, but it's strange that my attention will wonder when I'm not doing so. I regularly go back because I'll miss something.

Eureka 7 is a bit abstract in its style, but personally thought most things made sense at the end. What are you still confused about?
Also I really enjoyed the ending, thought it gave hope for the future and such.
Though DO NOT watch Eureka 7: AO, FUCKING DON'T DO IT. It is a horrible sequel and actually ruins a lot of the original series. I just pretend like it didn't happen. Don't waste your time with it and just forget it.

Re: Anime Chat VIII
I don't mind a little abstract, but the final episode completely embraced it; along with killing off a bunch of side characters and confusing the crap out of me. To me, episode 49 was the high point of the series, while episode 50 was the lowest point. Aside from being far to abstract for my taste, the show still had several unanswered questions
Once again, what Eureka 7 did right is exactly what I wanted, and the show had the potential to be one of my favorites, however it squandered its potential. I have only been so dissapointed once before, and it was even for the same reasons. (Though that does make me thing you would love Xamd)
A shame about AO then, it had the potential to undo my distaste for the ending.
- Spoiler:
- What exactly was desperation disease? What caused it? Why the scubs kill everyone with it? What was the relation between the compact drives and the scub? Why did Rentons ring show up in the amber? Time paradox? Why did Uerka transform? Wasn't she (according to the doctor) bioiologically the same as a regular human? If mankind left earth because of the scub, why/when did they end back up on the scub shell? was'nt this supposed to be another planet? and so on and so forth

Against my better judgement I am going to try out some more anime despite the fact that classes have started. Sidonia and Wakfu being the ones currently catching my glance.

Just watched and finished Sidonia. I like it. It reminds me heavily of the first half of Battlestar Galactica. I liked how strait forward the story and action is, no hand holding and no abstract nonsense. I also really like the setting for the show.

Only problem I had with it was the fact that it was CG. :/

Re: Anime Chat VIII
CG haters everywhere. All things considered, i actually liked it more for being CG. Since the entire show is CG rather than portions, it never contrasts itself and does not detract. Likewise, CG animation is definitely better in terms of combat and cinematic scenes. My biggest complaint would probably be the clones... Granted this ties into the story, but seing the exact same face a few billion times does get on my nerves.
Once again though, it reminds me heavily of Battlestar Gallactica; and I absolutely love some relatively hard sci-fi showing up again.

I wouldn't be too sure about that. You sir need to go watch Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works and then come back and tell me that 3D animation is best for fights haha.
Hell, I would even direct you to some Naruto episodes to strengthen my point. CG fight scenes to me can be very clunky and out of wack. I much prefer 2D fights and that's because there's more abstractness in the art during the fights that cannot be captured in CG fights. Also they seem to be more fluid most of the time.
