Re: Anime Chat VIII
I enjoyed it as well. Would been nice if we had more battles like the one at the very beginning. That was so awesome.

Re: Anime Chat VIII
How come Crunchyroll always messages me a day late about updates to a show in my queue?

*watches SNAFU TOO*
Damn it. I'm gonna stop watching this. This is nothing like the first season...
I'm not going to force myself.

I don't get the same vibe from the first Season in Season Two.

Oh, I see. I'm enjoying the second season a whole lot more than the first. I don't know why, though.

Oh well, it's really enjoyable.
Have you watched Kekkai Sensen? If not, I highly recommend it. So good, especially that ending.

Re: Anime Chat VIII
Just found and watched Gargantia. (13 episodes, so a nice long evening of anime) If I had to summaries the setting in a nutshell, it would be Water-World crossed with Battlestar Galactica; albeit with a mech or two because Japan.
Over-all I enjoyed the show a lot. It is by no means the best anime I have ever seen, but It is a cut above the rest. The melodrama is kept to a minimum, the setting is interesting, and the animation is good. I particular loved the color plate the show used, as it was much more colorful and bright than other shows I have seen recently. (Though the first-half of the first episode was a bit gaudy for my taste, thankfully the rest of the show looked far better)

Re: Anime Chat VIII
I need some info up front for another show, this one being Samurai Flamenco.
At first I really enjoyed the show for playing it strait and keeping everything relatively grounded...AND THEN Episode 7 came along. My question is this: Does the show continue on like this? If so I am dropping it right now.

Re: Anime Chat VIII
Did a little bit more research, and it turns out I was right. Definitely dropping this show. Really Really disappointed by it. The first few episodes were a feel good what the doctor ordered "Slice of life" that is exactly what I was looking for, then episode 7 came along followed by a complete, bloody, non-sense, fantasy plot twist that made me spit the show out like I found a live hornet inside a chocolate mint. I am literally angry at the idiot who thought this would be a good idea.

Okay...I still need to rant. Can you give me a good example of another feel-good slice of life show that you have seen?

Usagi Drop? I don't think it's dubbed, but it's incredibly heartwarming.

Okay. Imagine Usagi Drop such that after getting invested and enjoying the show nothing is out of place and the show itself is progressing very well, (Remember to picture it as slice of life, nothing that could not happen in reality so far) ...Luna wrote:Usagi Drop? When all of a sudden some random person transforms into gorilla of with guillotine for a stomach, snaps the neck of one person and decapitates another struggling for their life before falling into a crowd of people, screaming "Viva Torture" and exploding.
Do not want.

Re: Anime Chat VIII
I see, so it would be like if Usagi Drop just developed that stuff. That would be horribly jarring.
Anyhow, beside Usagi Drop, I also recommend Working!/Wagnaria! and Servant x Service. Those are all relaxing slice of life shows, though Usagi Drop is very high on the heartwarming side. Also, I don't think any of these are dubbed, but I'm not certain.

Re: Anime Chat VIII
I look into them, not sure when I will watch them though. The only reason I was watching Flamenco was because it is on Netflix. I did really enjoy the first few episodes, its a shame that they decided to completely destroy what they had going...Hell they did not even "Develop it", they just pulled it out of their ass and drop it at the end of an episode. A part of me wants to believe they got the scene mixed up from another studio during production...For fuck sakes it was out of place.
