holy crap
- Spoiler:
RIP Stoick
- Spoiler:
And he didn't die slowly or anything! I mean usually when a character dies they are alive long enough to say some words of love and wisdom...but no. BLAM! Point blank with Blue Energy/Fire. He died INSTANTLY
- Spoiler:
- That's what really made it feel like a ballsy choice for me. Not having a last little cliche heart to heart talk made it so much more effective.

Saw the Purge: Anarchy last night. While it adds a lot more by showing the actual city in chaos...the body count was very low and the actual amount of crimes taking place were...eh.
I want to see REAL chaos...not just teensy bits here and there

Dollar type theaters have a certain charm to them. Especially since many of them are really old and the architecture is cool.

Re: Movie Discussion Thread
Been marathoning horror movies that I either haven't seen yet or haven't seen in ages.
Watched:
1. Smiley - not a bad slasher flick. It really shows how utterly disgusting the internet generation can be. If you don't get the actual message of the movie, you may be let down by it.
2. Pumpkin Head - omg the puppet work and costume work for this movie was beautifully done. I also love just how intelligent Pumpkin Head was. Such a brutal killing machine,.
3. Re-Animator: Oh lordy - campy horror at it's best. Reminds me a lot of Evil Dead with its effects. And that headless oral-sex scene? WTF LMAO
4. See No Evil: Still a real fun and entertaining classic slasher film. I love seeing how expressive KANE is in this film. Really makes the character feel human.

Love these movies with a passion, especially Re-Animator. Dat Re-Animator - Evil Dead crossover comic.-Mazer wrote:

I wanna see the other 2 before I start reading the comic.
I just LOVE Herbert West though. He's that borderline "Not a villain/villain" character and his arrogance is so well performed. XD

Just watched this classic after years.
Why don't they make good sports kids movies anymore? We used to have a ton of them D:

Brief Expendables 3 review:
Unlike the previous films that focused primarily on the action and revenge, this movie balances the action with some character building. We see the old bringing in the new, the new teaching the old new tricks; and a lot of humor mixed within.
The action is over-the-top as per usual. The opening "Attack" scene which is a key to each film is not as good as the opening i...n 2 (but seriously that one will always be hard to top) but I am very pleased to saw that the violence and death count is as high as ever.
The lack of blood wasn't really an issue. I only saw one scene where a R-Rating would have been beneficial. The rest was fine.
Sadly the biggest negative revolves around the massive amount of CGI in the film. Several of the explosions were low-quality CGI and that saddened me a great deal. However, everything else was a lot of fun and you could tell that the actors were having the time of their lives.
And YES! I LOVED seeing Snipes. He reminded me a lot of his character in Demolition man. And Banderes? YES!

Re: Movie Discussion Thread
Finally saw the RoboCop remake.
It wasn't bad but it should have been rated R. Also, fuck that tacky black suit and why couldn't they have OG design? AND WHY THE FUCK WAS THE MAIN THEME NEVER ACTUALLY PLAYED DURING THE MOVIE? HAVING IT PLAY ONLY WHEN THE TITLE POPS UP IS NOT ENOUGH!!
Oh, also finally sat down and watched The Cabin In The Woods. Was gooood and became progressively more and more intriguing but the ending twist was a "...the fuck?" moment. Also, lol

Silent Hill Revelations. EXPOSITION, EXPOSITION IS ALL WE HAVE! Wow, it's like a horrible wikipedia cliff notes version of the 3rd game that simply didn't give a shit. What should have been a great horror movie was nothing more than uwe boll junk with similar levels of respect and accuracy to source material AND it kept turning into a fucking action movie! They turned a legit interesting character into a worthless, run of the mill, love interest ffs. Horrible movie.
Girl who played Heather was cute though.

The environments were the only thing good about that movie
Re: Movie Discussion Thread
Oculus. Was good, damn good! BUT the ending was unsatisfying:
edit: Also,
- Spoiler:
- Karen Gillan dies at the end ;_;
edit: Also,
- Spoiler:
- Evil triumphs over good like it did in Sinister. Sinister's ending was more satisfying though whereas this (cleverly) loops into the way the whole thing began but feels empty as a result, probably intentionally.
